What is ‘adventurous travel’?
The word ‘adventure’ might imply activities that aren’t necessarily in everyone’s comfort zone. Activities for real daredevils.
In fact, Madafocus offers trips suitable for everyone. Young or not so young, fit or not so fit. Depending on the travellers in question, we’ll choose the appropriate level of adventure. (TIP: Be sure to work out in advance with your customers what kind of adventure they want.)

A few examples:
- On our trips, the focus is on unique, Malagasy nature. On visits to the gorgeous national parks, we get out of the car and continue on foot. That might take the form of a hike, or a trek lasting several days.
- During their tour, your travellers can choose whether to stay in hotels, lodges or tents.
- Not all the main roads are paved. Rain turns the roads into obstacle courses peppered with ditches and potholes. This, in itself, adds an adventurous element to the jeep journey. If we go trekking in the bush, we will leave the paved roads behind in favour of sandy tracks, with the special experience of crossing rivers in a jeep ahead of us.
In areas further from the inhabited world, the roads are often muddy and sometimes even turn into gullies and streams. This is an opportunity for the truly adventurous to put their 4×4 skills to the test. What if the challenge gets even bigger? No problem: the jeep will go on a raft for a unique river crossing.
Yes, driving 300km around Madagascar always takes a bit longer than you expect.
